Tasting Notes: Il Blu is Brancaia's flagship Toscana IGT, a blend of Sangiovese with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. It offers dark cherry, blackberry, plum, cocoa and sweet spice with a rich, layered palate, polished tannins and a long finish. Decant and serve with grilled steak, roast lamb, game or aged cheeses; it will age gracefully.
Estate History: Brancaia is owned by the Swiss Widmer family, with estates in Chianti Classico and the Maremma.
