Estate History: The name Brigaldara appears for the first time in a notary deed dated 1260. This name, for centuries, identified a villa, together with the farmhouses and the lands that surround it. In 1929, the Cesari family acquires the villa with the surrounding land. And starting in 1979, Brigaldara began to make its own wine instead of selling most of the grapes it harvested.
Tasting Notes: The Brigaldara Amarone della Valpolicella Case Vecie is very ripe, almost roasted nose of dried cranberry, kirsch, brown spices, figs macerated in sugar syrup and botanical herbs. Then fresher and suave, with clean and precise flavors of cinnamon, pepper, tobacco and herbs. Finishes long with young, chewy but polished tannins.
