Tasting Notes: The Barberani Orvieto Classico Superiore Castagnolo displays aromatic notes of Green apple and almond. The round palate offers juicy white peach and ripe Bartlett pear accented by a nutty finish. Moderate acidity gives it a clean finish. An easy-drinking wine, best suited as an apertivo, but also friendly enough for seafood appetizers, boiled and grilled fish, or white meat.
Estate History: Luigi and Giovanna Barberani began making wine in 1961 near Lake Corbara in Umbria. Now in the capable hands of Luigi’s son Niccolò are 55 hectares of organic vineyards producing a range of unique, classic, and unmatched Umbrian wines. Fully organic since the 1980’s, long before it was fashionable, Barberani has always sought out a unique approach to making wine.
