Tasting Notes: Crafted from Verdicchio vines planted in 1972 on a hill, in Contrada Castellaretta the La Staffa Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Riserva Rincrocca is the apogee of the appellation. After fermentation in concrete tanks, the wine sits on the fine lees for 12 months then sees another year of refinement in bottle. Mineral, yet round on the palate, the striking straw yellow color leads into a nose of elderberry. The clean and full palate has green apple and pear alongside a touch of wild mint on the finish.
