Tasting Notes: Le Serre Nuove dell’Ornellaia sets a high standard for a ‘second wine’. A blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & Petit Verdot, it displays a dazzling deep ruby red color with purple highlights, a beautifully complex nose with notes of wild berries and balsamic notes reminiscent mingled with Mediterranean herbs. The tannins are smooth and silky.
Estate History: The Ornellaia Estate was founded by Marchese Lodovico Antinori in 1981. The first vintage was the incredible 1985 released in 1988.
