Tasting Notes: The Niedrist Mitterberg Weiss is a bold and expressive white wine produced from grapes grown on the calcareous soil at the foot of the Alps. This cuvée is a blend of mostly Chardonnay and small amounts of Petit Manseng and Manzoni Bianco. The wine is not unlike a classic White Burgundy: notes of vanilla and nuts with a full and rich body and lively acidity. A long period of aging on the fine lees further enhances the wine’s expressiveness, mouthfeel and potential for aging.
