Tasting Notes: The Marchese di Barolo Barbaresco Serragrilli comes from a gently sloping hill of the same name in the town of Neive. The vineyard faces south-west, giving the Nebbiolo grapes long exposure late in the day. The soil is a compact mix of clay and limestone, covered by a thin coat of quartz sand and fine silt. In the glass the color is ruby red with garnet reflections. The aroma is concentrated with distinct notes of red berries, cherry blossom and white pepper. The palate is elegant with a balanced tension between soft tannins and a bright acidity that rolls into the long finish.
