Tasting Notes: The Castello di Verrazzano Chianti Classico shows a bright red color with a purple rim, floral and robust nose, and a sapid body full of ripe red berry fruits such as cherry and blackberry.
Estate History: Located in Greve in Chianti, the Castle of Verrazzano was an Etruscan then Roman settlement with a documented tradition of winemaking going back to 1150. Giovanni da Verrazzano, famous for ‘discovering’ coastal New York, was born here in 1485. The Cappellini family has run the estate since 1958.
