Tasting Notes: A skin-macerated white from the Carso, the limestone plateau above Trieste, blending Vitovska, Malvasia Istriana and other white grapes. Golden amber in color, it shows dried apricot, orange peel, honey and Mediterranean herbs with a savory, textured palate and gentle grip. Serve cool rather than cold with seafood stews, prosciutto, roast pork or aged cheeses.
Estate History: Sandi Skerk farms a small family estate in Prepotto in the Carso, aging his macerated whites in a cellar carved into the rock.
