Tasting Notes: Romanelli is a family estate in Montefalco, in the heart of Umbria, devoted to the area’s native grapes. Sagrantino is one of Italy’s most tannic and powerful reds, and this 2019 has had time to soften: blackberry, black cherry and plum with notes of violet, cocoa, leather, herbs and spice, firm but polished tannins and a long, savory finish. Decant and serve with roast lamb, wild boar, game or aged Pecorino.
