Tasting Notes: Peter Pliger’s tiny Kuenhof estate near Bressanone is one of the reference points of the Valle Isarco, farming steep, terraced vineyards by hand. His Veltliner (Grüner Veltliner) is precise and mineral, with notes of green apple, citrus, white pepper and alpine herbs, a taut, energetic palate and a long, stony finish. Superb with schnitzel, asparagus, trout or herb-driven dishes.
