Tasting Notes: Castell’in Villa is a historic estate in Castelnuovo Berardenga, in the southern Chianti Classico zone, long led by Princess Coralia Pignatelli and admired for traditional, age-worthy Sangiovese. This Chianti Classico shows red cherry, plum, violet and dried herbs with notes of leather, earth and spice, firm, fine-grained tannins and a long, savory finish; a few years of age add depth. Pair with bistecca, wild boar ragu, roast meats or aged Pecorino.
