Tasting Notes: From the historic San Sano Castle estate in Gaiole, heart of "Black Rooster" territory, acquired by Antinori in 2014. This bottling comes from the highest vineyards on the property, up to 450 meters, hand-picked in small crates and aged roughly eleven months in large, neutral 1,200-liter French oak botti rather than barrique, to keep the fruit's purity front and center.
Bright red cherry and dried herbs lifted by real altitude, a savory iron-and-stone minerality underneath, and the firm, structured tannins that come from Sangiovese grown this high up.
