Tasting Notes: From a vineyard in San Casciano in Val Pesa, the far northwest corner of Chianti Classico, that Antinori purchased in 2011. Sitting at roughly 280 meters with cooling coastal breezes and rounded river-stone soils, it's one of the coolest, most mineral-driven sites in the appellation.
Inky dark fruit laced with espresso and sweet spice, ripe cherry and dark berry marmalade, dusty fine-grained tannins, and a distinct mineral thread pulled straight from the river-stone soil.
