Tasting Notes: Abbazia di Novacella is a working Augustinian monastery near Bressanone, founded in 1142 and among the oldest active wineries in the world. Its Schiava is the traditional light red of Alto Adige: pale ruby, fragrant and juicy, with notes of red cherry, strawberry and violet, a hint of almond, soft tannins and a fresh, easy finish. Serve slightly chilled with speck, cured meats, roast chicken or pizza.
