Tasting Notes: Pale straw-gold, with aromas of ripe pear, yellow apple and citrus alongside subtle notes of hazelnut and toasted oak. The palate is round and textured yet fresh, with a mineral streak and a long, savory finish. Try it with roast chicken, seafood risotto or creamy cheeses.
Estate History: Felsina lies in Castelnuovo Berardenga, at the southeastern edge of the Chianti Classico zone. Domenico Poggiali purchased the estate in 1966, and under his son-in-law Giuseppe Mazzocolin, working alongside enologist Franco Bernabei, Felsina grew into one of the benchmark names for Sangiovese in Tuscany. The family still runs the estate today, farming organically and propagating their vineyards from massal selections of their own old Sangiovese vines. I Sistri is the estate's barrel-fermented Chardonnay, grown on Felsina's own vineyards in Castelnuovo Berardenga and a rare white from a house best known for Sangiovese.
